We carry out research as our commitment to advancing our profession for future generations. Research starts with an idea, lots of strong will, commitment and sacrifice!
Some of our aims are to provide excellent service to our patients and our colleagues, to develop dental knowledge and to educate patients and colleagues on the latest and most relevant discoveries.
Research is fundamental for achieving these aims. We mainly carry out research at the University of Sydney at Centre for Oral Health at Westmead Hospital and at the Australia Centre for Microscopy and Microanalysis.
Currently we are working on:
- Clinical outcome of metal ceramic and all ceramic crowns
- Clinical outcome of mandibular overdentures
- Optimisation of chair side polishing of zirconia-based dental restoration
- Optimisation of chair side polishing of lithium disilicate restoration
- Quality of margin preparation
